This is very different from how the other Xenoblades ended since there wasn't really an open endedness on the relationships overall. The scene works without context but in context of the friendship Noah has with Joran, Eunie, and Lanz kinda makes it seem extremely weirdly selfish and tonally a bit dissonant. "So did Noah abandon his friends to phase to another world?". I think my biggest gripe (aside from the sort of "it was all a dream" handwave of the whole plot) is really that it focuses overly on Mio and Noah, and the ending just sort of is like. And so the events of Xenoblade 3 are triggered but the way the whole resolution is handled, the main cast and the story is basically like a repair service for a bigger plot involving Nia and Melia, lol. Once the Conduit and Klaus vanish, it makes sense that without that awesome power that the broken universe would want to basically mend itself back. The whole idea of the merge makes perfect sense in the context of Xenoblade 1/2 events as the Conduit and Klaus are the reason for there even being two parallel worlds (excluding Mira's fuckery). However, it wasn't clear to me if now that we basically phased the two worlds past each other when the supposed merging is supposed to happen. And so the whole game is basically undoing the problem of Z while fixing Origin. Ye, my understanding was basically that this was some eventual inevitability but it happened in such a way that things spiraled out of control, Origin broke, and Moebius/Z spawned from a collective fear.
